These MTX subs feature a high temperature 1.5" 4 ohm voice coil so they will handle 1200 watts of power for the pair or 600 watts each and it also allows for maximum excursion. They have an ALDS Asymmetrical Linear Drive System with a flat progressive spider and extended pole piece for smooth, linear, piston like drive. Spider plateau venting makes sure the voice coils stay cool protecting your subwoofers. Kevlar-impregnated paper woofer cone has been chosen for its high strength-to-weight ratio, and is formed using a proprietary manufacturing process. Besides improving transient response, this cone material adds stiffness to relieve stress concentrations that may accumulate at the base of the cone under high-power and high-pressure applications. This is the same cone used in the flagship GTi series subwoofers.Nitrile-butylene-rubber one-piece surround and gasket provides an optimum blend of elasticity and internal damping, resistance to ultraviolet radiation, and durability despite extreme temperature and humidity variations. The large size of the roll was optimized to offer good long-throw linearity with the proper amount of control and stability at excursion limits.The frame on the GTO Series uses thick wall construction which offers maximum rigidity to support the motor structure, and its fully vented architecture provides maximum movement of air behind the cone and spider for maximum cooling.
