Leica
The new LEICA APO-SUMMICRON-M 75mm f/2.0 ASPH is designed to be universal in its usage, as good at infinity as in the close range and at all apertures but its very natural rendering of details (very low distortion and vignetting) as well as its performance at open aperture and at close range make it particularly suitable for lively available light portraits or to isolate part of the picture when doing a reportage. The very natural looking perspective of this focal length make beautiful portraits possible with a three-dimensional feel to them. Decisive image elements can be emphasized without the image losing its expression of true reality. The optical performance is excellent at wide-open aperture. As the MTF curves show the contrast reproduction only slightly increases by stopping down. The closest focus distance is 0.7 m (27 in.) against 1m for the 90mm general-purpose lenses. A new velvety matt finish makes the Leica APO-SUMMICRON-M 75mm f/2.0 ASPH immune to flare. Distortion is not a concern and barely visible in real life. Thus the images taken with this Summicron are as close to reality as you can get. Outstanding close-up pictures are made possible via a floating element. This lens element changes its relative position to the rest of the optical system while focusing. The real challenge was to integrate this extra mechanism in the compact form of a lens whose mount was established in 1954 and whose silky focusing needed to be maintai -
Leica
The Summarit-M lenses are designed to offer traditional Leica optical and mechanical excellence while positioned at a price level below the current M ASPH lenses. The aim of these lenses is to bring classic Leica quality and performance to a broader market of users. The Summarit-M maximum aperture of f/2.5 and the concentration on classical and proven spherical lens designs leads to very compact, but high performance lenses with excellent quality expected from a Leica lens. The Summarit-M lenses will see the reemergence of traditional Leica elements. All letter and number engravings will be made using the traditional "Leitz-Norm" font as originally used by Leitz Wetzlar during the 1960's and the red button onthe lens mount will be true to the original color used on lenses produced since the introduction of the M mount through the 1970's. -

Leica
A fast, computed high-performance lens for portraiture and photojournalism. Also excellent for quick snapshots when you want to take pictures inconspicuously from a distance. Its high speed permits relatively fast shutter speeds that prevent blurred images caused by camera motion. With an aspherical lens surface and APO-corrected quality, this lens sets standards in the category of short telephoto lenses. Built-in sliding lens hood. 6-bit lens identification code Enhances functions of the digital Leica M Ensures optimal image results Provides Exif information to photographers Reduces vignetting Determines the output of the pre-flash in flash mode. -

Sonnar T* 2/85 ZM The flexible selector.... This lens provides crisp images over the entire focusing range, from infinity to close-ups, even with fully open aperture. It is the first telelens with floating elements for the M-bayonet and is equipped with an extremely precise, non-linear rangefinder coupling. The Sonnar T* 2/85 ZM lens is a creative tool providing a close view of any required object: a landscape, a garden, a building or a portrait. Brilliance and crispness of the image are outstanding up to the minimum object distance. For this reason, the Sonnar T* 2/85 ZM lens is ideal for portraits, details and photojournalism. Why M-mount? For more than 50 years now, passionate 35 mm photographers have been embracing the M-mount rangefinder camera system. From the lens designer's perspective, a rangefinder camera offers an exciting advantage over single lens reflex (SLR) cameras: more space. After all, there is no moving reflex mirror and drive mechanism. This allows for a short distance between the last lens element and the film meaning more opportunities for designing of superior lens types, including high performing wide-angle lenses. A passion ready for the challenge For our lens designers, the chance to develop the Carl Zeiss family of T* ZM-mount lenses was a dream come true. They were free to follow their passion in pursuit of perfection in lens performance, taking full advantage of our uncompromising symmetric lens designs.
