Formulary's TF-5 Archival Rapid Fixer is an extraordinary fixer for both paper and film. * Processing time of only 30 seconds for resin-coated prints, 60 seconds for fiber-based prints, with no hypo clearing agent necessary. * Little or no odor if mixed with distilled water. * No stop bath necessary. Just use water rinse after developing. * Non-hardening. Excellent for use with prints to be toned or re-touched. * It is a near neutral fix that changes the pH of the film or paper from alkaline to near neutral, unlike TF4 in which the film or paper stays at an alkaline pH value. * The only rapid-fixer system that allows the print to be completely fixed without impairing the rapidity of the wash. * No image bleaching. All conventional fixers act as reducers. This means that the longer the material is left in the fixer, the more image silver is destroyed. This can only have bad effects on the image, whether it is a print or a negative. Conventional sodium thiosulfate (rapid) fixers suffer from this defect especially. The problem is eliminated in TF-5, which may offer slightly richer maximum blacks as a result. -

Perma Wash is a highly concentrated neutral liquid that not only saves a tremendous amount of time and wash water, but even more importantly provides archival permanence in both films and paper. A one quart bottle will make 11 gallons of working solution. Perma wash saves more than 90% of normal wash water requirements which is estimated that the operating costs is one cent per 8x10 sheet of film or paper processed. Perma Wash is non-corrosive and is formaldehyde free. -

0.5 l liquid concentrate to make 2.5 l. Ilfotec DD-X is a fine-grain developer which gives full film speed. It produces negatives which are easy to print. Correctly exposed negatives developed in Ilfotec DD-X have a full range of tones, with depth in the shadows, a smooth transition through the mid-tones and bright, detailed highlights. This developer is designed to complement the features of Ilford films, especially the range of Ilford Delta Professional films. In particular, it is recommended for use with Delta 3200 Professional film rated at EI 3200/36. It also gives excellent results when used with quality black-and-white films from other manufacturers. It is supplied as a liquid concentrate for one-shot use. -

ILFORD HYPAM is a non-hardening rapid fixer supplied as a liquid concentrate that is diluted with water for use. It is easy and convenient to use. Without the addition of a hardener it is suitable for all black and white film and paper, manual and machine processing applications in the temperature range of 18-40°C (66-104°F). It can also be used for fixing other specialist, X-ray, scientific products and graphic arts materials. The fixing agent in HYPAM is ammonium thiosulphate, it contains no sodium thiosulphate (hypo). ILFORD HYPAM HARDENER is a concentrated liquid hardener that is used to turn working strength solutions of ILFORD HYPAM into a hardening fixer for Black & White films. For most applications modern camera films are sufficiently hardened when manufactured for most processing circumstances so the general use of a fix hardening agent is no longer recommended -

UNIVERSAL paper developer is a phenidone based developer supplied as a liquid concentrate. It is for use with graded and variable contrast papers on both a resin coated or fiber base. The 16 oz. bottle makes five quarts of working strength solution and a developing time of 1 1 2 minutes is recommended for all papers. This can be adjusted up or down depending on the required results. This economical liquid concentrate should be diluted 1 part developer mixed with 9 parts water for working strength solution. Mix only as much developer as is needed for that particular printing session. Development times can range from 35 seconds to two minutes at 68°F (20°C). UNIVERSAL paper developer will produce a neutral image colour with all ILFORD papers. Unopened bottles of UNIVERSAL paper developer con-centrate will keep for about 18 months. A tightly capped half-full bottle will keep for at least three months. One liter of working strength developer will process about 45 8x10 inch fiber base prints and 70-80 resin coated prints. -

Liquidol is a revolutionary new print developer designed by Bill Troop and Ron Mowrey which features exceptionally long shelf life, tray life, and high capacity, along with the convenience of a 1:9 liquid concentrate. Fine printers will appreciate that this developer has considerably more flexibility in over- and under-development than most print developers. This feature is limited when using the many papers which include incorporated developing agents. When using papers which do not have incorporated developing agents, demanding printers will appreciate the extra dimension of flexibility and control Liquidol offers. Liquidol has been carefully designed to replicate the appearance of prints developed in industry-standard Kodak Dektol, yet to provide enhanced shadow separation. Other advantages are the convenience of a liquid concentrate that can be diluted 1:9, dramatically enhanced capacity, shelf and tray life, and full development within 60 seconds at 1:9 dilutions. Liquidol incorporates a novel use of electron transfer technology not previously employed in print developers. This new technology allows us to approach more closely the elusive goal of attaining consistent tone and contrast throughout the print run, making this developer especially valuable for consistent batch processing. Stability was a paramount concern during the design of this developer. Because of its exceptional capacity and tray life, this developer this developer is considered to be highly economical. -

Photographers' Formulary Van Dyke Brown Printing Kit produces beautiful brown images. It is similar to the Kallitype process but uses ferric ammonium citrate as the sensitizer. This modification results in a print that needs no special developer, just a short water rinse and fixing. Van Dyke Brown printing does not have flexibility in contrast control nor the ability to change print color with development. However, the prints may be toned with printing-out-paper toners.
