Emulating the design merits of the Tamron SP 90mm Macro, renowned and trusted by professional and amateur photographers throughout the world, the new SP AF180mm f3.5 LD (IF) Macro 1:1 is a mid-range telephoto lens that gives the user a longer working distance needed for some macro subjects. In addition, to meet the needs of this dual-format world (silver-halide and digital), the optical system of the lens is designed to provide optimum performance when used with the latest digital SLR cameras as well as film cameras.

The new Filter Effect Control is designed to rotate the filter to the desired position while the hood is attached. This is accomplished by turning the FEC ring that in turn rotates the portion of the filter mount where the filter is mounted.

Sigma 24mm f1.8 EX DG Aspherical Macro is one of the EX Series lenses. This lens has a fast F1.8 maximum aperture with macro focusing capability of minimum focusing down to 18cm/7.1 inches (reproduction ratio 1:2.7). The iris diaphragm has 9 diaphragm blades to obtain beautiful out of focus image. It incorporates the floating focus system and uses two aspherical lens elements for minimizing distortion and spherical aberration and astigmatism. Internal focus system eliminates front lens rotation, thus allowing the use of a Perfect Hood and the easy use of polarizing filters. The lens incorporates non-vignetting optical construction, in order to obtain adequate peripheral brightness even at open aperture. This is desirable for digital cameras. The lens also incorporates dual-focus mechanism. It is easy to hold the lens, since focusing ring does not rotate during auto-focus, and yet it provides adequate focusing torque of the focusing ring during manual focusing of the lens. This lens is a fast f/2.8 maximum aperture telephoto optimized for digital SLR cameras. The multi layer lens coating reduces flare and ghosting, which is a common problem with digital SLR cameras. ELD (Extraordinary Low Dispersion) glass elements reduce chromatic aberration to a minimum and also ensure sharp, quality images of high contrast. It creates an excellent image quality for both 35mm film and digital SLR cameras. A 46mm drop-in filter holder in the rear part of the lens barrel facilitates the use of different filters, including a polarizing filter. The HSM models (Sigma, Nikon and Canon mounts) provide fast, silent AF function as well as full- time manual focus override. It incorporates an inner focusing system, which enables the overall length of the lens to stay the same while focusing, ensuring convenient handling and ease of use. By simply adding an optional APO teleconverter (sold separately), this lens can be used as a 420mm F4 AF ultra-telephoto lens with a 1.4X EX teleconverter, or a 600mm F5.6 AF ultra-telephoto lens with a 2X teleconverter.

Canon EF Autofocus Lenses Canon s reputation for excellence in optics has been well established for years. And with the introduction of EF lenses for the EOS, it s only getting better. EF Lenses have the largest diameter mount of any 35mm camera, which not only strengthens the whole system, but permits optical innovations never before possible. L-Series lenses have better sharpness and contrast because Canon uses aspherical elements to eliminate spherical aberrations. In addition, the L-Series telephotos use UD (Ultra-low Dispersion) glass to reduce chromatic aberration resulting in more accurate colors. A built-in Ultrasonic focusing Motor (indicated by USM) provides pro-quality AF speed with split-second accuracy. This ultra-wide-angle lens has the shortest focal length in the L-series. Element 2 is an aspherical lens to correct distortion. Other aberrations such as astigmatism are also corrected, resulting in ideal image quality. The lens has a fixed, petal-type hood and a gelatin filter holder at the rear.
