Designed for use with autofocus and multifocus SLR cameras, the Sigma 52mm circular polarizing filter cuts the glare from water and nonmetallic surfaces, letting you enjoy crisper, clearer images. A circular polarizer is intended to improve color saturation and contrast, performing such tasks as darkening the sky in color photography without affecting the color balance. The filter's multilayer coating, meanwhile, optimizes protection for the lens while further reducing reflection. The filter--which is designed to especially benefit wide-angle lenses without vignetting--fits lenses with 58mm filter threads. Note that the polarizing filter does not have a thread on the front filter ring. -

The Sigma 20mm f/1.8 D EX DG Aspherical Lens has a clutch-like system for switch between AF and MF modes. The system is very similar to the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX macro lens I reviewed previously. You push the manual focus ring forward to disengage the focus ring for auto-focusing. For manual focusing, you pull it toward you to engage the clutch. When the ring is set to AF, you can rotate the focusing ring all you want, you won't change the focus on the lens. When the lens is auto-focusing, it also doesn't effect the position of the manual-focusing ring. The manual focus ring is wide so there is no chance that you'll miss it in operation. -

This high-quality Sigma UV Filter blocks the invisible UV component of light from the sky, which can cause blur and to which many color films react with a blue cast. UV Filters are ideal for photography in high altitudes (in the mountains), by the sea and in regions with very clean air. The pictures gain brilliance and disturbing blue casts are avoided. Because the glass is colorless, color rendition is not altered, aside from the elimination of the unwanted blue cast, and no increase in exposure is required. The colorless glass also makes a UV Filter very suitable as protection for the front element of your lens against dust, flying sand, sea water spray and the like, and it can be kept on the lens at all times. It is recommended for color and black & white film, as well as digital photography. Multi-Layer Coating for Superior Protection: Sigma has treated this filter with a multi-layer coating process, which, in addition to its UV-blocking qualities, makes these filters especially scratch-resistant. This coating does not affect the optic characteristics of the filter, but significantly optimizes the protective effects. -

This autofocus fisheye lens is designed for use with digital SLR cameras equipped with APS-C size image sensors. The Nikon version produces a diagonal angle of view of 180 (154for Sigma, 167 for Canon). The diagonal field of view of this fisheye lens produces striking images with exaggerated perspective and distortion. The minimum focusing distance of 13.5cm/5.3inch, and maximum magnification 1:3.3 allows subjects to be as close as 1.8cm/0.7inch from the lens' front element. This close focusing capability allows close-up photography and also it is possible to make use of large depth of field that covers wide range of subjects. The Integral hood blocks out extraneous light and the Super Multi-Layer Coating minimizes flare and ghosting, creating superior image quality. The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) ensures fast and quiet autofocusing and allows full-time manual focus override by rotation of the focus ring. This lens is supplied with a gelatin filter holder at the rear, allowing the use of gelatin filters. -

Digitally Optimised (DG) Filters EX DG filters benefit from Sigma's multi-layer lens coating, developed to counteract the highly reflective characteristic of image sensors. With older style filters, light would reflect off the image sensor, bounce off the lens and filter elements and re-enter the image sensor, creating a ghost image. The multi-layer coating dramatically reduces this effect. In addition to this, an optimum, neutral colour balance is ensured, increasing the white balance accuracy of the digital camera. Multi-coated UV Filter This filter perfectly eliminates the harmful effect of ultraviolet light. The multi-coated UV filter can be used with both colour and black-and-white film anddigital sensors. This is the most suitable filter for protective use and generalphotography. -
